The Children’s Sanctuary

Building a healthier, brighter, stronger Cambodia

Who they are

Cambodia is one of the most impoverished countries in the world and has some of the highest infant mortality rates in the region. Founded in 2007 by Dr Andrew Clift and his wife Dawn Cornish The Children’s Sanctuary offers a warm, loving home and healthy environment to 15 young children and 5 young women who work as nannies of the children in the Sanctuary.

What has been achieved with SCF support

SCF fully sponsors 4 children which provides a home environment with live-in nannies, healthcare, education, nutritious meals and a weekly outing. SCF also provides funding for a full time teacher and the shipment of medical supplies from Australia to a local hospital in Siem Reap.
Educational resources, stationery and office equipment have been bought locally or taken from Australia to the Sanctuary

Future Goals

SCF staff regularly visit the Sanctuary. Looking to the future, Children’s Sanctuary management and staff are currently exploring options for further projects. The possibilities to continue the support from SCF is exciting and we are working closely with the Children’s Sanctuary staff.  Check our Facebook page and newsletter for updates!
